Sixteen contracts were signed at $4 million and above in Manhattan last week, which was the highest Christmas week total since 2017.
The No. 1 contract was Unit 5 at 102 Prince Street, asking $19 million. The sale was a combination that comprises two side-by-side lofts at 102 Prince Street and a unit at 114 Greene Street. With a total of 7,092 square feet, the condos include 4 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms, with 11-feet high ceilings and a fireplace in the corner living room. The owner is a philanthropist and art collector, Henry Buhl.
The No. 2 contract was PHABE at 95 Greene Street, asking $11.999 million. This triplex condo has 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms and a dramatic great room with a 36-foot-tall ceiling, with terraces off the kitchen, a master bedroom, and a rooftop terrace.
A strong last quarter of 2020 has the city looking toward next year with confidence, but also with guarded optimism as the world continues to battle the pandemic. The sales of homes at $4 million and above the last 3 months were a little higher than those of the same 3 months in 2019. With more buyers looking for discounts and long-term prospects, this is an opportune time for buyers to go out and strike a deal.
Happy New Year and see you next year!
