With the same total as the previous week, seventeen contracts were signed at $4 million and above last week.

The No. 1 contract was 12C at 170 East End Avenue, asking $10.5 million. This condo unit has 3,619 square feet and includes 5 bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms. The living room, library, master bedroom, and a 1,640-square foot, wraparound terrace all face the East River. Designed by Peter Marino, 170 East End has 12,000 square feet of amenities including a concierge, garage, fitness center, yoga and Pilates studios, a media room, a golf simulator, squash court, a children’s playroom, and a billiards rooms. Moreover, the building also has a library and a private, landscaped courtyard with waterfalls.

The No. 2 contract was a townhouse at 112 East 78th Street, asking $8.995 million. This 5-story, 16-foot-wide house has 5,890 square feet and includes 5 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms, as well as an elevator that services all floors. The house also features a garden, a gym, and a wine cellar that stores over 1,000 bottles.

With the same number of contracts were signed as last week, the difference between the two weeks being their dollar volumes, many of the buyers have been local New Yorkers and families looking for outdoor spaces and extra living spaces when searching for their homes. As we see signs of improvement in the city during this pandemic, buyers have been prioritizing outdoor space and terrace, particularly as people continue to work remotely from home.
